Upside Names Kristin Langdon Chief People Officer
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL
The veteran People leader joins Upside to build its People function as the company scales following its Series A.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Upside, a nationally scalable housing stability platform purpose-built for healthcare, today announced that Kristin Langdon has joined the company as Chief People Officer. Langdon brings nearly two decades of Human Resources and People leadership experience, with a track record of building People functions from the ground up at high-growth technology companies. She will lead all aspects of Upside’s People strategy — including talent, culture, employee engagement, and organizational development — as the company grows its team across its Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and employer markets.
Langdon joins Upside at a pivotal stage. Following its Series A, the company is expanding its Care Guide workforce and go-to-market teams to meet growing demand from health plans and employers addressing housing instability as a driver of health outcomes. Langdon’s experience scaling People operations at companies at a similar stage — including NYSHEX, Botify, and Wunderkind — positions her to build the infrastructure and culture Upside needs for its next phase of growth.

“A strong mission and strong people are what make a company work, and the outcomes we deliver for our partners start with the team that delivers them,” said Jake Rothstein, Co-Founder and CEO of Upside. “Kristin leads with candor and care, and she knows how to build a People function that scales without losing what makes a place worth working at. We are lucky to have her.”
Before joining Upside, Langdon served as SVP of People and Communication at NYSHEX, where she led the People and culture function through a period of growth. Earlier, she held senior People roles at Botify and Wunderkind (formerly BounceX), where she built and scaled HR functions across talent, employee relations, and learning and development. She holds a SHRM-CP certification and a Predictive Index certification, and studied at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
“What drew us to Kristin is her pattern of joining companies at exactly our stage and building the People function from the ground up alongside the whole team,” said Peter Badgley, Co-Founder and COO of Upside. “In her first weeks she is spending most of her time listening — hearing directly from the team about what is working, what could be better, and what people need to do their best work. That is exactly how we want to build.”
“The mission is what first pulled me toward Upside, and meeting the leadership team made me certain it was the right move,” said Kristin Langdon, Chief People Officer of Upside. “What this team has already built is remarkable, and I feel fortunate to be part of what comes next. What I care most about is building a culture of real candor and transparency, because that is what lets a team with a mission this strong do its best work together.”
Langdon’s appointment reflects Upside’s continued investment in the people behind its model — the Care Guides, technologists, and operators who help members and employees solve housing problems to completion. As the company scales, that investment in its own team underpins the outcomes it delivers for partners: the lease gets signed, and the ER visits stop.
Upside is a nationally scalable housing stability platform purpose-built for healthcare. The company partners with health plans and employers to proactively identify and stabilize members and employees experiencing housing instability — connecting them to safe, supportive housing while reducing avoidable emergency care utilization and improving health outcomes. Upside’s model combines dedicated Care Guides — licensed social workers and housing specialists — with AI-supported housing orchestration to deliver measurable results at scale. The platform serves Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, D-SNP, commercial, and employer-sponsored populations across the full housing continuum, from crisis intervention to long-term tenancy support. Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Upside is redefining how healthcare organizations address housing as a foundation of care. For more information, visit www.joinupside.com.
